Dry stone is a construction method in which stones are not bound to each other with mortar. The advantages of this method are easy and fast cladding. Metal anchors are fastened to blocks which are attached both to a concrete wall and to a covering slab. There is a space of 50-60 mm between the wall and the stone which makes laying rather convenient and also provides good isolation. Moreover, it is easy to replace damaged stone due to the assembly structure.
This masonry provides a high level of seismic stability of the structure. The design is unique and original. This type of masonry is widely used in Europe and the United States. Now, due to equipment and our qualified staff, Movsisyan Ltd. has recently begun offering dry stone in Armenia. A recent example is the new American Embassy building in Yerevan.
